To provide leadership and control of site team. Responsible for supervising site operations, ensuring that work teams are briefed daily, works are delivered within program to an acceptable standard with safety being paramount.
The site Supervisor will manage site teams. The primary purpose is to ensure the safe and efficient operation and delivery of civils works route wide, being responsible for the daily morning briefing, point of works risk assessments, RAMS, Task briefings and permits. Ensuring accurate records are kept along with daily site diaries. Supervisors will report to the site Foreman. Please note the below list of activities is not full and complete and is viewed as a guide to the roles responsibilities this position will be responsible for the following key actions:
Key Responsibilities
* 1. Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace, lead by example.
* 2. Promote the golden rules.
* 3. @ Site competency checks. (CSCS, CPCS, M-site/BBV induction ETC).
* 4. Deliver Briefings as requiring (every morning minimum).
* 5. Ensuring RAMS/TBS are briefed, understood, signed onto and that they are specific/cover every task undertaken.
* 6. That Point of Work Risk Assessments are delivered before each task or at the point of any changes in conditions.
* 7. Ensure permits are relevant to the task are briefed by the engineer to the site team and in date. The request of the permit update/renewal should be submitted with enough time to do so.
* 8. Help the Balfour Beatty Vinci community liaison representatives to ensure that any community needs, and sensitive locations are reflected in site briefings.
* 9. Supervise the site teams/contractors and manage them onsite ensuring they fulfil their roles and responsibilities. Being assertive in stopping unsafe works,
* 10. Control all operations, tasks and movements within their site.
* 11. Ensure safe use of tools and plant including site deliveries. Ensure plant is inspected to meet PUWER guidelines.
* 12. Take ownership of tasks and quality.
* 13. Keep records of variations, delays, site diaries and ensure works are instructed under a written instruction.
* 14. Assist in site audits/safety tours, programme productivity/outputs, wastage control, understanding costs (labour & plant)
Experience Required
* Experience in construction
* Current qualification in Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS/ SMSTS). (Supervisor only)
* 3-day first aid and maintained
* Fire Marshall competency and maintained
* Current Construction Skills Certification Scheme card (CSCS)
* Able to work in a high-pressured environment.
* Excellent Communication skills
* Further training will be given in line with level 1 supervisor development training (SDP).
