Join our Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick team as Contract Lead - HVAC on the Sizewell C Project and you’ll deliver complex work that really matters to our business, and the world around you,
Sizewell C will create a 3.2 gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for at least 60 years. It will be built next to Sizewell B which began operating in 1995 and has so far avoided more than 76 million tonnes of carbon emissions. Our proposal is to build a new nuclear power station on the East Suffolk coast which will supply 6 million homes with low-carbon electricity.
This role will be hybrid with a minimum of 1-2 days per week at Aztec West, Bristol

What you'll be doing

* Contributing to procurement and contracting strategies to meet the
overall SZC Project objectives.
* Supporting upfront contract development activities across technical,
programme, legal and commercial disciplines.
* Support to the budget process and analysing the commercial requirements
of a contract.
* Support to the Commercial Lead in ensuring all internal governance
approval is in place.
* Managing contracts in accordance with the contract terms (predominantly
NEC3 and FIDIC), SZC governance requirements and SZC Project objectives
to achieve a successful close.
* Ensuring compatibility and alignment with other SZC Project contracts.
o Administration of commercial management tools including, but not limited
to, CEMAR and SAP.
* Responsibility and accountability for managing the close out of each
contract and identifying and recording commercial lessons learnt.
* Deliver contracts in accordance with NNB governance requirements to
meet NNB SZC Project and business objectives.
* Supervision of Supply Chain Contract Managers under their control.
* Internal and external stakeholder management and working within a
multi-disciplinary team/teams.
* These accountabilities are not an exhaustive list of the responsibilities and
activities that the job holder may be required to undertake

Who we're looking for

* Educated to degree level ideally in a technical / engineering subject
* Member of RICS/ICE/CICES/IOB or equivalent professional body.
* Proven ability of working within a complex major project/programme
environment in both procurement and post-procurement phases.
* Evidence of successfully undertaking administering of complex contracts.
* Effective Management and Leadership skills, with clear knowledge of best
practice contract methodologies in the UK environment.
* Honed commercial skills and demonstrable ability to make sound decisions
on complex matters (considering technical and commercial topics) of high
financial value.
* Good understanding of procurement, contract performance measurement,
risk management and change and claim management.
* Experience working in a dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
* Experience of standard forms of contract (NEC and FIDIC) within the
power/construction industry on complex major projects/programmes.
Able to obtain a security clearance.
