We are currently looking for a Quality Lead to join our team in Great Yarmouth. The Quality Lead is responsible for leading and developing the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) to ensure consistent delivery of high‑quality products and services across global operations.
This role is critical within an offshore energy, technology‑focused OEM, equipment and services business, ensuring robust quality controls across equipment rental, manufacturing, integration, calibration, service, and offshore mobilisation activities. The position requires strong expertise in ISO standards, operational quality assurance, and continuous improvement, using lean six sigma methods within a high‑risk, regulated environment.
Responsibilities
Quality Leadership
* Maintain, develop, and continuously improve the Integrated Management System in line with ISO9001:2015 requirements.
* Support the internal audit programme, including planning, execution, reporting, and follow‑up of findings.
* Coordinate external certification and surveillance audits, ensuring timely preparation and effective closure of any non‑conformities.
* Ensure all controlled documents, including processes, procedures, and work instructions, are up to date, accurate, and effectively implemented.
* Implement, monitor, and verify the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) across the organisation.
* Lead or support investigations into quality issues, conducting robust root‑cause analysis and driving sustainable improvements.
* Apply lean six sigma production and operational improvement methods across design and production.
* Champion a strong culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the business.
Compliance & Industry Standards
* Serve as the primary authority for ISO 9001 certification, external audits, and customer quality audits.
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and industry standards applicable to subsea equipment, offshore operations, and technology services.
* Coordinate surveillance audits, third‑party inspections, and internal audit programmes.
Supplier Quality Management
* Support supplier assessment and onboarding.
* Conduct supplier audits, and capability assessments.
* Monitor supplier performance and manage non‑conformances‑.
* Support incoming quality inspection, material certification, and full traceability.
Production Quality & Inspection
* Conduct routine in‑process and final inspections to ensure products meet specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
* Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues, provide technical guidance, and drive continuous improvement.
* Analyse inspection data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process optimisation.
* Collaborate with the Products and Technology division to identify defects reduction through process efficiency
* Support the creation and approval of manufacturing data books and technical documentation.
* Develop and maintain procedures for inspection, testing, verification, and traceability of equipment and components.
Technical Operations Quality Assurance
* Oversee quality processes related to equipment rental, repair, calibration, maintenance, integration, and offshore project support.
* Ensure all products, tooling, systems, and equipment meet defined specifications and customer expectations.
* Support the development and maintenance of procedures for inspection, testing, verification, and traceability of equipment and components.
Non‑Conformance & Continuous Improvement
* Lead investigation and resolution of NCRs, customer complaints, and quality deviations.
* Apply root cause analysis methodologies (5‑Why, Fishbone) and ensure corrective and preventative actions are implemented.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, efficiency, and standardisation across global operations.
Quality of Product & Service Delivery To Client
* Support client audits, inspections, and project quality reviews.
* Respond to client concerns, complaints, and non‑conformance reports.
* Provide quality input during bid/tender processes when required.
* Maintain active communication with suppliers and vendors to uphold quality standards throughout the supply chain.
Risk, Reliability & Continuous Improvement
* Lead quality‑related risk assessments.
* Support qualification and verification testing for new products.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
* Utilise quality metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
Training & Competence
* Provide training and guidance to our team on quality procedures, standards, and expectations.
* Foster understanding of IMS requirements across our global engineering, workshop, offshore, and logistics teams.
* Enhance internal capability in inspection, testing, documentation, and quality reporting.
* Support and mentor STR “Quality Champions”.
