A growing engineering organisation at the forefront of advanced manufacturing is looking for a Software Engineer whose primary focus will be the development of in-house software tools and their integration with manufacturing hardware and equipment. The role supports automation, data capture, and continuous improvement across production operations.

The Role
* Develop and maintain in-house software tools for manufacturing operations
* Integrate software with manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and hardware
* Work closely with Manufacturing, Production, Quality, Automation, IT, and NPI teams
* Support automation of data collection, reporting, and real-time monitoring
* Contribute to continuous improvement projects and new product introductions
* Create and maintain technical documentation and manage version control
* Provide training and ongoing support to end users
About You
* Degree in Software, Electrical Engineering, or similar (or equivalent experience)
* 1+ years’ software development experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
* Experience with Python or similar, Visual Studio, and Git/SVN
* Strong SQL Server skills for querying, reporting, and data analysis
* Understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows
* A collaborative problem-solver with good communication skills
Desirable (Not Essential)
* ERP / PLM systems (JDE, Enovia, Oracle)
* NPD experience or exposure to Emerson products
* Agile, Power Automate, or cybersecurity awareness
* Electronics or embedded systems knowledge

* £30,000 – £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
