Overview
Equans is looking for an Operational Support Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus, and benefits package.
This is a regional role covering Private Sector contracts in the South of England. The post holder can be based anywhere in the south with travel to site. The role offers hybrid working.
What will you deliver?
* Collate and analyse operational data to identify trends and value‑driving opportunities that support growth, efficiency, productivity, insourcing, and informed decision‑making
* Provide clear, data‑led insights and recommendations to support multi‑contract and business‑wide solutions and/or improvement initiatives
* Support mobilisation, demobilisation, and transformation activities, maintaining strong governance, communication methods, and compliance to enable aligned documentation, reliable timelines, and confident decision making
* Coordinate regional programmes and priority initiatives with operational and functional teams, flexing capacity to support teams with high demand or at high peaks of workload, and delivering consistent, measurable outcomes across people, safety, wellbeing, community, and organisational campaigns
* Track regional priorities and deliverables, identifying risks and bottlenecks early and coordinating cross‑team actions to maintain delivery momentum
* Partner with operational teams to identify and embed solutions, continuous improvement, standardisation, and best‑practice ways of working, supporting effective adoption of core systems and processes
* Support Operational team and Market Community activities including bid inputs, case study creation, collateral development, campaigns, award submissions, and events
* Maintain an organised library of operational metrics, evidence, and project summaries to enable efficient, high‑quality inputs for bids and client materials, using business libraries where available
* Coordinate governance forums such as operational and financial reviews, risk committees, and performance reviews, ensuring timely action closure and effective information flow
* Produce timely reports as required and manage regional SharePoint structures and records, maintaining clear trackers, repositories, and evidence to support compliance and audit readiness
* Lead and coordinate internal and external events, meetings, reviews, and workshops, managing agendas, logistics, communications, and action tracking through to closure using digital tools
* Support employee engagement activities including newsletters, updates, and success stories, coordinating contract inputs to ensure accuracy and consistency

Who are we looking for?
* Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment
* High proficiency in MS365 tools including Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Teams, Planner, and Power BI
* Strong analytical capability to interpret data, identify trends, and produce clear, actionable insights for leadership
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports, presentations, and senior briefing materials
* Highly self‑sufficient, with a demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritise workload effectively, and deliver outcomes with minimal supervision or direction
* Confident working across diverse teams and stakeholders, demonstrating professionalism and discretion at all times
* Experience coordinating meetings, events, and governance sessions, including preparation of materials, logistics, and action tracking
* Proactive, solutions‑focused mindset, with the ability to bring structure, clarity, and momentum to complex tasks
* Strong digital awareness, with confidence championing new tools, systems, and technology improvements
* High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality across all outputs and submissions
* Desirable: Experience in FM, construction, engineering services, or similar operational environments
* Desirable: Familiarity with business improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, CI)
* Desirable: Exposure to bid support, marketing activity, case study or award submission development
