Summary
As an Estates Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective management, maintenance, and safety of all care home properties within our organisation. Your responsibilities will cover maintenance oversight, health and safety compliance, budget management, and environmental sustainability. You will lead a team of maintenance staff and collaborate with other departments to support the organisation’s objectives.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program, including scheduling inspections and timely repairs.
* Coordinate with external contractors for large-scale maintenance projects, ensuring quality work within budget and timelines.
* Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies to minimise disruptions.
* Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment, and contractor performance.
* Ensure all care homes comply with relevant health and safety regulations and conduct regular audits.
* Perform risk assessments and inspections to mitigate potential hazards.
* Develop and implement health and safety policies to promote a safe environment.
* Stay updated with legislation changes and ensure organisational compliance.
Experience:
Proven experience inEstates management, ideally withinhealthcare, care homes, or multi-site operations.
Technical Knowledge:Strong understanding ofbuilding systems, compliance, and maintenance best practices.
Health & Safety Expertise:Familiarity withCQC, HSE, fire safety, and environmental health regulations.
Organisational & Financial Skills:Ability to managebudgets, contractors, and multi-site operations.
Problem-Solving Ability:A proactive approach to handling maintenance and operational challenges.
Leadership & Communication:Strong people management and collaboration skills.
