The Manager, Client Services (“Manager”) professional is responsible for communicating the Firm’s vision and capabilities to the marketplace and engaging clients and prospects in a consultative manner to provide customized solutions for Ryan. Responsibilities include expanding and cross-selling within client relationships, researching and developing new business relationships, and targeting qualified prospects. The Manager will work closely with a team of Client Services and Service Delivery team members to assist with the business development pursuit of existing clients and prospects.

This role includes accountability for CPA channel relationship pursuit and management, including strategic engagement with CPA firms to generate referrals and strengthen Ryan’s market presence. This is a primarily remote role; however, candidates must be based in Irvine, CA, Chicago, IL, or Bellevue, WA. The position involves occasional travel for business purposes, including in-person visits to referral sources and clients as needed to support relationship-building and client service.

Client:

14. Work closely with a team of Client Services and Service Delivery team members, assisting with all stages of business development:
15. Meet with prospects and clients regarding potential engagements.
16. Identify, research, and pursue prospects and clients to generate new business for the Firm.
17. Make cold calls and maintain contact with prospects and clients through phone, email, and professional networks.
18. Build and maintain key relationships with Firm prospects and clients.
19. Attend business development meetings with prospects and clients, both locally and nationally, to generate new leads.
20. Develop responses to requests for engagement letters, MSAs, agreements, and proposals.
21. Maintain a deep understanding of Ryan’s service offerings to discuss them confidently with prospects and clients.
22. Stay informed on alliance partners’ products and service lines to position them effectively.
23. Utilize Internet research tools (e.g., OneSource) to uncover opportunities for prospects and clients.
24. Ensure client satisfaction by monitoring timely service delivery and adherence to Client Service Principles.
25. Anticipate client issues and needs proactively.
26. Develop and execute a strategic plan for CPA firm engagement, including:
27. Outreach to new CPA firms to introduce Ryan’s services
28. In-person or virtual visits to CPA firms
29. Scheduling and leading quarterly regroup calls with CPA partners
30. Planning and hosting annual CPE trainings or VIP events for CPA firms
31. Cultivate relationships with CPA firms to generate client referrals, with the expectation of building a consistent referral pipeline.
32. Provide regular status updates to CPA firms on mutual clients, ensuring transparency, trust, and alignment.
33. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure CPA-referred clients receive timely and high-quality service.

Value:

34. Track CPA engagement activities and referral outcomes in the Firm’s CRM.
35. Analyze referral trends to identify high-potential CPA partners for deeper collaboration.
36. Support marketing efforts for CPA-focused campaigns, event planning, and educational content.
37. Coordinates sales efforts with Client Services and Service Delivery team members to perform joint-selling activities.
38. Stays current on tax issues that may create sales opportunities with prospects and clients.
39. Generates necessary documentation to assist in deal closing (presentations, engagement letters, etc.).
40. Generally, understands business issues and quickly understand commercial drivers at Ryan, and recognize areas for operational improvement, risks, and re-engineering.
41. Assists with other projects and duties as needed. 

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in Business Development and/or Sales.

Computer Skills:

42. To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in using the following applications or systems: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
43. Document Management Systems, such as, Microsoft SharePoint, Google Drive, Dropbox or eFileCabinet
44. CRM (Customer Relationship Management) experience in entering, reviewing and reporting sales information, such as, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, OnContact, or NetSuite.

Certificates and Licenses:

45. Valid driver’s license required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has limited supervisory responsibilities for the Client Services department, including training employees, assigning work, and checking work for accuracy and completeness.

Work Environment:

46. Standard indoor working environment.
47. Occasional long periods of sitting while working at desk.
48. Position requires regular interaction with employees and clients both in person and via e-mail and telephone.
49. Independent travel requirement: 50%+.

Remote position

* For Denver, CO-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is

$58,000 - $79,000.

* For New York, NY-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is

$66,000-$90,000.

* For Bellevue, WA- based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is

$60,000-$82,000.

* For Carlsbad, Glendale, Irvine, Los Angeles, Sacramento, and San Diego, CA-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $60,000-$82,000.

* For Oakland and San Jose, CA-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $66,000-$90,000.
