Stantec in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, United Kingdom. This opportunity is for a Design Manager within our Major Projects team, focusing on water infrastructure in the North East.
As a Design Manager in our Newcastle office, you will lead design delivery for major water projects, delivering sustainable and innovative solutions that protect communities and the environment.
Responsibilities
* Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver water projects from concept through detailed design, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
* Work on initiatives such as Hull and East Riding’s Living with Water partnership and the Clifton Integrated Constructed Wetland; participate in projects across clean water, wastewater, flood risk, and urban drainage.
* Influence the industry by partnering with major clients across the UK, including Northumbrian Water’s Strategic Technical Partnership and Yorkshire Water’s Storm Overflow Alliance.
* Act as the technical lead alongside the Project Manager to ensure delivery of best value and service excellence.
* Plan and lead the technical delivery of projects, collaborate with clients, and guide multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle.
* Access and utilise the firm’s global network of experts to deliver leading-edge designs.
* Be based in the Newcastle office and contribute to the team’s growth while delivering meaningful projects.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree-qualified engineer; ideally Chartered status or membership to a relevant engineering institution (e.g., ICE). Support can be provided to achieve this if required.
* Ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams with strong technical expertise in Civils, MEICA, Process, or other relevant disciplines.
* Willingness to take on differing levels of seniority and develop leadership skills with support from the company.
