A family of schools is seeking an experienced teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator to join their team. The successful candidate will coordinate a team of professionals, manage the family AFN budget, and support SENCOs across the schools.
The role involves working 2 days per week, with a pattern of either Tuesday/Wednesday or Wednesday/Thursday.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher to develop their leadership skills.
Main Duties:
* Ensure funding decisions for children with significant SEN are fair, agreed, and transparent.
* Support the moderation process by visiting all schools at least half termly to review identified children, their provision, and needs.
* Maintain, review, and develop working practices following SEN policies and protocols.
* Manage the Family AFN budget and HLN process.
* Disseminate new initiatives and good practice.
* Chair family SENCO meetings.
* Attend relevant training and lead staff training in schools.
* Liaise with Family Head Teachers and attend Family of Heads meetings termly.
* Coordinate with all school SENCOs within the family and ensure effective transition arrangements between primary and secondary schools. Develop links with Children’s Services, parents, and the local community.
