York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management (YTHFM) is seeking approachable and flexible Cleaning & Catering Operatives to join our team at Scarborough General Hospital. No prior experience is necessary as full training will be provided. A willingness to learn and develop your skills is essential.
The main responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness throughout a designated area and providing catering services on the wards. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
1. Ensuring the ward/area assigned is cleaned according to the work schedule, including lifting items and operating cleaning machinery, some of which is industrial standard.
2. Undertaking specialist cleaning tasks under the guidance of the Facilities Supervisor, Nurse in Charge, or Infection Prevention Department.
3. Assisting with the distribution of meals to wards.
4. Plating meals and ensuring patients' dietary requirements are met.
5. Making and distributing hot drinks, cleaning, and refilling water jugs.
