Our client, a respected and forward-thinking manufacturer, is currently seeking a skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team. This is a key role that combines core quality engineering responsibilities with a strong focus on supplier quality. The successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining high-quality standards both internally and across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities for the Supplier Quality Engineer:
Supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of the companys quality systems in alignment with ISO 9001.
Leads and participates in root cause analysis and the development of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for both internal and supplier-related quality issues.
Conducts internal and supplier audits to ensure adherence to quality requirements and drives continuous improvement.
Works cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Procurement teams to support product launches, process improvements, and quality planning.
Manages non-conformance reports (NCRs), including those related to supplier-provided materials and components.
Monitors supplier performance using key quality metrics (e.g., PPM, delivery performance) and collaborates on improvement initiatives.
Provides training and guidance to internal teams and suppliers on quality standards, tools, and processes.
Assists with customer quality audits, documentation, and reporting as needed.
Candidate Requirements as a Supplier Quality Engineer:
A minimum of 3 years experience in a Quality Engineering role, ideally with exposure to supplier quality management.
Solid understanding of quality methodologies and tools.
Familiarity with ISO 9001.
Strong communication, analytical, and organisational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management systems; experience with ERP platforms is advantageous.
Professional certifications (e.g., ASQ CQE, CQA, or CSQP) are beneficial but not essential.
Additional Information:
The role may require occasional travel to supplier sites (maximum of once a month).
This position involves working across office, production, and supplier environments.
Additional annual 5% bonus.
