The Role
Tameside Children’s Services is seeking a dedicated and motivated Social Worker to join our fostering team, which includes supervising connected carers and conducting assessments of connected carers. As a Fostering Social Worker, you will work to secure permanency plans for children in Tameside and contribute to our broader services for children in care.
This rewarding role involves ensuring children and young people are placed with foster carers best suited to their needs, in a safe and nurturing environment that aligns with Tameside’s commitment to quality care.
We value social workers with the right values, enthusiasm for strength-based relationship social work with children and families, and a desire for professional growth. You will receive regular supervision and work in a supportive culture committed to effective social work practice and your development.
About You
You will be a qualified Social Worker with relevant experience and strong assessment skills. You should be highly motivated, committed, and passionate about making a positive impact on children, young people, and families. You will demonstrate professional curiosity, a drive to improve standards, and a focus on achieving better outcomes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and professionals. You should have a thorough understanding of statutory requirements and Fostering National Minimum Standards, along with skills in detailed assessments, including court reports.
We seek candidates who enjoy working within a large team, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and are eager to develop their practice further.
