Specimen Reception accommodation is at Trafford General Hospital, site of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). Please note this is a full‑time post – 37.5 hours per week (Sites: ORC, TGH, NMGH, WYTH – multisite working, 24/7 rota).
The department runs a state‑of‑the‑art automated blood track, to support the Trust's leading laboratories. The team you’ll be joining provides a quality service unpacking, labelling and registering specimens as well as using pre‑ and post‑analytic equipment.
The post offers a great opportunity to gain laboratory experience in Blood Sciences, in a stimulating environment with support from a highly experienced and committed team of professionals. CSR provides a 24/7 service and the post will be rostered for shifts to support this. You will also be expected to work at other MFT Specimen Receptions when required.
A good standard of education (to GCSE level or equivalent) is necessary as are good keyboard skills. You should be flexible, methodical and organised with good communication skills. Full in‑service training will be provided.
You will be supported throughout with regular reviews of progress to develop appropriate knowledge and skills to enable personal development.
