Calling all Mental Health Occupational Therapists. This is an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Occupational Therapist. Redbridge Integrated Care Directorate invites applications for the post of Band 6 Community Occupational Therapist/Care coordinator within the Redbridge Mental Health and Wellness Team (MHWT) – South.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist functional assessments, including assessments of daily living skills using the Model of Human Occupational (MOHA) assessment tools to ascertain functional ability, related risk factors, level of support, and accommodation needs.
* Implement community care plans, provide adaptive equipment and maintain a high standard of service user care.
* Jointly lead and support the facilitation and delivery of group programmes alongside OT staff, support time recovery workers, and peer support workers.
* Collaboratively work with IPS employment workers to support service users with their employment goals.
* Offer the opportunity to undertake mental health assessments, keywork and, to care coordinate clients in accordance with Care Programme Approach (CPA) policy.
* Undertake comprehensive assessment of health and social needs together with the service users and implement a plan of care and intervention to meet these needs, ensuring regular reviews are in place for evaluation of the care plan.
* Ensure carers and family are included and supported in care planning.
* Facilitate and implement the Trust and Local Authority requirements in relation to safeguarding children and guidance legislation within the Care Act 2014, and adhere to the requirements of the Safeguarding Adults policy.
Key information
Probationary period: This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period unless you are already part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff.
High‑Cost Area Supplement: This post also attracts payment for a High‑Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,714 and a maximum payment of £5,941) pro‑rata for part‑time staff.
Induction: NELFT places a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop‑in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
