Job summary
Adult community mental health services are undergoing an exciting transition to develop and enhance services for individuals with complex mental health issues. Formerly known as Assertive Outreach, we are modernising our service to create an intensive and assertive treatment model within our community mental health services.
We are seeking a consultant practitioner with a special interest in substance misuse and psychosis to provide clinical expertise in developing this service. You will support the creation of a co-produced care model that enables individuals with complex needs to engage effectively with services. You will play a lead role in evolving the service using existing pathways and new investments, working with the health and social care system to ensure high-quality care.
You will join a motivated and experienced leadership team and will hold a key clinical and leadership role within the community mental health division. You will collaborate with operational and clinical leaders to ensure the delivery of safe and effective care for those with complex mental health needs, taking a proactive clinical leadership role in care delivery.
This is a newly developed role offering an exciting opportunity to shape services and care delivery.
Main duties of the job
1. Expert practice: Establish values-based practice across the care pathway, service, organisation, and system, working with individuals, families, carers, and communities.
2. Strategic and enabling leadership: Provide values-based strategic leadership across the care pathway, service, and systems within changing and complex environments.
3. Learning, development, and innovation: Foster a learning culture to develop staff potential, transform the workforce, and promote excellence through continuous improvement.
4. Research and innovation: Cultivate a 'knowledge-rich and inquiry' culture that contributes to research and positively impacts development, quality, and system capacity.
5. Consultancy and expertise sharing: Use your expertise to advise across all pillars, sharing knowledge within the community mental health service and positively influencing the wider mental health care system.
6. Engagement: Engage staff and system partners effectively to improve practice, services, and community health, while enhancing workforce capacity and capability.
