Job Description
What will you be doing?
We're seeking a talented individual to join our team in Cambridge, predominantly responsible for preparing statutory accounts, accurately processing clients' financial data, and preparing monthly/quarterly management accounts and VAT returns. As an Accounts Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting with the preparation of annual financial statements, including statutory accounts, partnership accounts, and sole trader accounts for tax purposes.
2. Assisting with the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts.
3. Attending to client administration including engagement letters and billing processes.
4. Preparing monthly/quarterly/annual VAT returns from financial information supplied by clients.
5. Completing other VAT services including registration, de-registrations, options to tax, etc.
6. Supporting bookkeeping duties for clients using packages such as Xero, Dext.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have experience:
* AAT qualified, ACCA/ACA part-qualified.
* Technical knowledge and awareness of UK GAAP.
* Experience with computerised accounting packages including cloud-based software (Xero and/or Silverfin knowledge beneficial).
* Ability to work independently but also as part of a wider team.
* Results-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality work that meets deadlines.
Desired
* Interest in leveraging technology for efficiency improvements.
* Experience working across service lines (business tax, personal tax) to deliver integrated services.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams and colleagues in different locations.
* Minimum of 3 years experience working in practice.
