Soft Services Manager
Location – Rugby, CV21 1HA
Permanent/ Full-Time
We’re looking for a dynamic Soft Services Manager to oversee cleaning, security reception, office services, grounds maintenance, pest control and general facilities services across this key site. This is your chance to combine leadership, innovation, and operational excellence in a role that makes a real impact.
In this role, you will manage, lead, and develop a team of site-based and mobile staff, taking overall responsibility for team performance to deliver outstanding customer service and operational excellence. You will be accountable for all aspects of service delivery, including the creation and management of cleaning schedules, audits, and ensuring full compliance with HSQE standards.
You will work closely with clients to identify risks, implement best practices, and provide tailored solutions that meet evolving business requirements. The role involves managing budgets, P&L, invoicing, and supplier performance, as well as leading regular operational meetings, audits, and innovation initiatives to drive continuous improvement and maintain high service standards.
You will also be responsible for the effective operation of the client’s on-site shop, including stock control, distribution, and, when required, working on the till. Flexibility will be essential, as you will be expected to adapt to changing business needs, provide hands-on support when necessary, and ensure seamless service delivery across all areas, always maintaining full ownership and accountability for your team’s performance.
As an Apleona Soft Services Manager, we’re looking for:
1. IOSH / NEBOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
2. HNC level qualification or equivalent; BIcS certification
3. Proven experience in a management role within soft services or FM
4. Strong leadership and people management skills with a focus on motivation and development
5. Ability to manage budgets, prioritize tasks, and deliver results under pressure
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with knowledge of employment law and employee relations
7. Degree-level qualification in FM or Business Management (desirable)
8. Experience in FM or retail sector (desirable)
9. SIA Non-Front Line licence (desirable)
10. Valid UK Driving license
