We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Bricklayer to join a local authority’s repairs and maintenance team based in Newcastle. This role involves working on both void and occupied domestic properties.We’re looking for a Bricklayer experienced in repairs and maintenance on domestic properties. This is a stable, full-time role ideal for someone with social housing or council experience.Duties Include:
* Lay bricks, blocks, and other masonry units in line with technical drawings
* Mix and apply mortar or other bonding agents to ensure level brickwork
* Repair, restore, and maintain existing brickwork and stone structures
* Measure, cut, and shape bricks or blocks to fit
* Check alignment, levels, and quality of finished work
* Construct or repair walls, partitions, chimneys and foundations
This is a fantastic opportunity to secure sociable, full-time hours Monday to Friday. The hourly pay rate for this role is £18.40 Ltd (PAYE equivalent £15.79 inclusive of holiday).You will be working a standard 37-hour week, with potential for overtime. An immediate start is available.You will need:
* Proven experience in Bricklaying, ideally within social housing or council work
* Your own basic hand tools and PPE
* Full UK driving licence
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Bricklaying
