We have in excess of 1,500 members from ages 3 to 103, together with a strong match day attendance from local residents and visiting supporters. ROLE SUMMARY
Head Chef – Chobham RFC
We are looking for a hardworking, organised and creative Chef to manage and run our kitchen. Delivering a varied food selection, from players post-match meals to walk ups, themed lunches and occasional external hires. This role will give the right candidate a wide range of challenges and opportunities to show off their creativity and flair whilst managing budgets and delivering excellent customer service.
The key responsibilities will include:
● Full management for the kitchen operation, reporting to the Clubhouse Manager
● In conjunction with Clubhouse Manager, ordering and controlling of stock within budgeted margins minimising wastage and maximising sales
● Ensure that all ingredients are prepared to the highest standards and all meals and snacks are presented to reach the customer at their absolute best
● To shape the food offering, adhering to the core values of healthy, tasty and innovative
● Assist with the management, training and motivation of the kitchen support team to ensure the delivery of product and service to consistently high standards
● Working closely with Clubhouse Manager, Bar Manager and club volunteers to achieve exceptional levels of customer service
● Ensure kitchen is staffed when required
● Implementation of kitchen processes and procedures that safeguard employees and customers and meet all Hygiene, Health and Safety requirements.
● To take pride in delivering excellent customer service .
● To lead by example with regards to appearance, attitude and work ethic
● Comply with all documentation and record keeping in line with company policy
About You:
● Experience as a Chef in busy environments – knowledge of sports clubs an advantage
● Experience of catering for 300+ varied covers per day – snacks to meals
● Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to work as part of a team
● The confidence in the smooth efficient running of the kitchen operation
● A passion for preparing and presenting high quality food, embracing the values of fresh, nutritious, healthy and tasty food
● A calm, positive and supportive attitude towards working as a team to achieve goals
● The ability to delegate tasks where appropriate.
● Excellent organisational and communication skills
● Professionally trained with relevant qualifications (Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene – desirable)
● Have your own transport and be flexible to suit the kitchens demand on working hours
