Requirements
You will have a degree in Energy Management, Facilities Management, Building Services, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the post.
Responsibilities
You will assist with the effective procurement and consumption of energy and water in the City Council's properties, in line with the City Council's sustainability policies and best practices. Your role includes providing a comprehensive energy management service, including property inspection and reporting, supervision of works, contract procurement and monitoring, and managing energy supply regimes. You will communicate the aims and objectives of the City Council's energy policy to staff, customers, and service suppliers.
The Individual
You should have relevant post-qualification experience in energy management, with the ability to identify problems and develop innovative, cost-effective solutions. You must be capable of producing clear technical and non-technical reports. Practical knowledge of energy and water efficiency, current regulations, procurement techniques, control and building management systems, building fabric, services, and installations is essential. You should be familiar with energy surveying and auditing techniques, climate change challenges, renewable energy technologies, current energy policies, funding streams, and software packages. Experience in energy and water metering, monitoring, reporting, and delivering training or presentations is also required. Good communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, adapt, and organize workloads are essential. Willingness to undertake training and develop diagnostic skills is also important.
