The role: On behalf of a local council, we are seeking a Finance Manager to provide financial advice and guidance to managers to enhance business performance and deliver the council’s vision, priorities, and values. You will take a proactive role in delivering timely financial and management accounting services, including budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and annual accounts closure. You will also contribute as an integral member of the finance management team by driving service transformation, improving debt management and governance, and supporting strategic and operational development through expert financial insight and effective leadership. Key Responsibilities: Supporting the optimisation of effective finance systems Budget preparation, analysing and monitoring complex budgets Project accounting work – producing business case and benefit realisation Producing and analysing complex financial reports Completing statutory accounts for a complex organisation Financial modelling What the client is looking for: A CCAB qualification Finance Management experience in Adult Social Care. Experience of dealing with a range of stakeholders with a varying degree of understanding of financial matters and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written format to establish excellent working relationships Previous experience in supporting the optimisation of effective finance systems Previous experience in budget preparation, analysing and monitoring complex budgets Previous experience in project accounting work – producing business case and benefit realisation Previous experience in producing and analysing complex financial reports A strong background in completing statutory accounts for a complex organisation Experienced in Financial modelling A working knowledge of business and teamworking applications, e.g. Microsoft 365 or equivalent, including email, word processing, spreadsheet, browser, team collaboration applications How to Apply Quote the Job Title and Reference Number in your application.
