The Role
Registered Nurse within CCU/MHDU at University Hospital Wishaw. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care, and/or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients. The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision. The post holder may be required to demonstrate procedures to and supervise registered and/or unregistered staff, as well as student nurses.
NHS Lanarkshire serves a population of 655,000 across rural and urban communities in both North and South Lanarkshire, with Acute Services on three main sites and additional primary and social care services through Health and Social Care Partnerships.
What you’ll need to bring
Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration. The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative. Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team; excellent time management skills; working knowledge of basic information technology.
For all vacancies where a driving licence is required, a full UK/EU/EEA licence is required.
Desirable qualifications and experience
* Nursing degree or diploma
* Experience of caring for patients in an acute environment
* Relevant experience in an acute setting or emergency care area
* Experience working in a medical environment
* Knowledge of person-centred care
* Knowledge of infection control guidelines
* BLS
* ILS

This is a part-time post and the salary will be pro-rata.
Location and working pattern
This role will be based in CCU/MHDU within University Hospital Wishaw. The working pattern is rotational 11.5 hour shifts.
