Join to apply for the IT Student Systems Manager role at Birmingham City University. The full-time starting salary is normally £52,462 per annum, with progression available in post to £60,842 per annum. Grade: H. Full-time, permanent role.
We have an opportunity for an experienced IT Student Systems Manager who will lead and manage the IT Student Systems Development team and will be responsible for the IT service ownership including the development, enhancement, optimisation, and maintenance of student systems. The team is responsible for the analysis, development, and testing of solutions to a high standard and quality to provide performant student systems that are reliable, agile, and maintainable.
Responsibilities
 * Lead and manage the IT Student Systems Development team.
 * Own the IT service delivery for student systems, managing development, enhancement, optimisation, and maintenance.
 * Develop and test high-quality student systems solutions.
 * Ensure integration between student systems and other external systems.
 * Continually evolve systems to meet emerging needs and opportunities.
 * Deliver efficient business processes aligned to the university’s strategic direction.
Qualifications
 * Extensive experience in the use and development of corporate student systems.
 * Experience managing student systems including technical environment, version management, and system monitoring.
 * Foundation in ITIL-based service delivery – essential.
 * Degree level education or above.
 * Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 * Analytical skills, self-motivated, and proven track record of delivering student system services.
The appointed candidate will normally be employed through our subsidiary company BCU Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Birmingham City University. Appointees with prior LGPS membership who wish to enter the LGPS scheme will be able to do so and will be employed by Birmingham City University directly.
