Our client is looking to recruit a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team based in South Manchester. Requirements
* As a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer, you will support the delivery of mechanical pipework and associated services across a range of projects. You will be involved in design activities while receiving training and mentoring from experienced engineers.
* You will assist with producing design documentation, developing 3D models, and supporting site-based activities to understand installation and commissioning processes.
* Awareness and willingness to develop knowledge in the following areas (full training will be provided): Piping layouts and routing, General arrangement (GA) drawings, Basic stress and support considerations, Mechanical equipment layouts, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and equipment schedules, Design risk assessments and CDM awareness, Industry standards and design best practices, Site surveys and installation constraints.
What you'll bring
* Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
* Around 1-3 years of post-graduate or placement experience in a design or engineering role
* Basic understanding of mechanical services or piping systems
* Familiarity with AutoCAD (experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D is advantageous)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
