About the role
We are seeking a HR Advisor to join our growing global team. This role will provide HR coverage to both Quinbrook and Private Energy Partners managers and their employees in Australia, the UK and USA.
The HR Advisor will report directly to the CPO. Given the stage and nature of the business, this role is focused on assisting the CPO embed all people processes and structures to support the growth of the business. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your operational HR experience within two dynamic companies where your contributions will have a direct and visible impact.
In this role you will:
* Act as the first point of contact for employees and managers
* Work with managers to understand and resolve issues
* Develop strong and trusted relationships throughout the business to enable effective collaboration on all people related initiatives
* Contribute to and drive projects that deliver against the global people strategy
* Embed change initiatives and help to influence change across the business
* Work with the CPO to help manage HR policy and practice, make recommendations in line with changes in legislation and best practice
* Work closely with the CPO, Recruitment Specialist and third-party vendors to ensure all HR processes (including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, compensation, benefits and international mobility etc) are run efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
HR Lifecycle Administration
* Ownership of HR processes- e.g. onboarding new starters, transfers, promotions, performance management process, offboarding leavers
* Maintaining HR Information System- creating new employee records, editing current employee records and ensuring leaver information is recorded
* Formalising and documenting changes to terms and conditions of employment
* Conducting maternity leave discussions and composing letters for employees, ensuring payroll instructions are captured in the relevant months
* Work with HRIS consultant on accurate reporting of people data
* Conduct exit interviews as and when needed
Recruitment & Selection
* Work with the Recruitment Specialist to ensure effective recruitment and selection.
* Support with employment contract generation
* Initiate pre-employment screenings
* Oversee onboarding of all new hires and respond to new joiner queries
* Schedule interviews as and when required
* Coach managers on the hiring process and best practices
Compensation & Benefits
* Work with the CPO to ensure effective reward management
* Provide advice to managers on how pay is managed across the organisation
* Help to manage and coordinate key activity including the annual bonus and salary review processes and conduct job evaluations and skills matrix mapping.
Employee Relations
* Provide advice and guidance to managers on day-to-day ER issues in line with current employment legislation, company procedures and commercial risk.
* Advise managers on underperformance issues and PIPs
* Coach managers on conduct issues and manage disciplinary matters alongside the manager
* Coach managers on resolving conflict within teams and manage grievances as and when they arise
* Support managers with sickness absence matters and signpost available support
* Guide on any potential redundancy and restructuring matters and provide advice to the manager on how to formalise the changes to the structure or size of their teams
* Stay up to date with employment legislation and ensure the HR team are continually up to date with amendments to relevant employment legislation across all locations
Learning & Development
* Work with the CPO to provide relevant training solutions that meet needs of the business and develop the organisation and individuals
Projects
* Devise a comprehensive onboarding programme, to be implemented globally for PEP and Quinbrook
* Create a qualifications matrix for PEP employees to capture completed certifications and maintain CPD log on HRIS
* Design employee engagement survey to record employee sentiment across Quinbrook and PEP
Experience Required
* Minimum 4 years proven experience in a HR Coordinator/ Advisor role in a fast paced, commercial environment
* Broad knowledge and understanding of employment legislation
* A proven ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
* Able to productively challenge and influence managers
* Able to prioritise well and be flexible in a fast-paced environment with changing demands
* Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
* Ability to provide a solution focused approach to problem solving, with the ability to find pragmatic outcomes
* Shows a commercial approach to managing HR issues
* Highly organised
