ROLE : Project Manager (Mechanical Design)
SALARY : GBP 45,000 - GBP 55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
TYPE : Permanent
Location: Bristol
My client is a specialist manufacturer. They are looking for a Project Manager with a background in Mechanical Design Engineering to join their team in Bristol on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities
* Lead and Project Manage the Design, Prototyping, Development, Testing and Introduction of new products
* Identifying and managing full lifecycle projects, from bid generation to manufacture and delivery
* Successfully delivering projects on time and on budget
* Working on full lifecycle design projects
* Designing and developing new products
* Producing detailed works schedules, resource and projects plans
* Liaising with clients as required keeping them up to date with project progress
* Working with design, purchasing and production departments
* Presenting project plans and reports to management
* Reporting progress, managing risks and responding to issues
* Maintaining technical documentation as required
* Working in a small, multidisciplined team
Qualifications
* Experienced Project Manager, ideally with a background in Mechanical Design / Product Development
* Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes including sheet metal, fabrication, welded parts and machining
* Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo etc.
* Knowledge of a variety of materials : sheet metal, injection moulded plastics etc.
* Be able to read engineering drawings
* Strong leadership skills
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once and deliver results on time and budget
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
* Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
