Residential Support Worker – Children’s Residential Care
📍 Location: Rochdale, OL11
💷 Salary: £13.25 – £14.00 per hour + sleep-ins (£50 per sleep-in, approx. 5 per month)
🕒 Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
🔁 Shift Pattern: 1 day on / 2 days off (including evenings, weekends & sleep-ins)
🏠 Setting: Children’s Residential Home (Ofsted rated Good)

Our client, a well-established provider of children’s residential care, is looking for Residential Support Workers to join their team in Rochdale.
The Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, consistent care to children and young people aged 10–18 with emotional, behavioural, and complex needs. You will work as part of a dedicated team to create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment that supports positive outcomes and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide person-centred care in line with individual care and placement plans
* Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
* Support daily routines, education, leisure activities, and life skills development
* Promote emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour using structured and restorative approaches
* Safeguard and protect children in line with legislation and internal policies
* Maintain accurate records, reports, and handovers
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
* Contribute to a positive, child-centred culture within the home
Requirements
* Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
* Understanding of challenging behaviours (SEMH, EBD)
* A calm, patient, and compassionate approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Willingness to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already achieved)
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
