Teaching Assistant
Location:Newham, East LondonSalary: £1,800 - £2,200 per monthStart Date: Immediate / SeptemberContract: Full-time
A welcoming primary school in Newham is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
This is an excellent opportunity to provide 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils build confidence, access learning, and make strong academic and social progress. The role would suit candidates with school-based experience, SEN experience, or graduates looking to build a career in education.
The school has a strong inclusive ethos, supportive leadership, and a collaborative staff team focused on helping every child succeed.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group SEN support
* Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
* Encourage positive behaviour and independence
* Work closely with teachers and the SEN team
* Support classroom learning and targeted interventions
Requirements
Essential:
* GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
* Experience working with children or in an SEN setting
Desirable:
* Experience supporting ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech & language needs
* Degree in Psychology, Education, or a related subject
