About the Client
Our client is a well-established, multi-award-winning accountancy practice with a longstanding reputation for excellence. This family-run firm, with a consistent senior leadership team for over 25 years, is known for delivering high-quality financial services across Cumbria and Lancashire. They are now seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Technician to join their team on a full-time or part-time basis.

Responsibilities
1. Record financial transactions and maintain accurate ledgers.
2. Handle accounts payable/receivable and bank deposits.
3. Code invoices using Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
4. Prepare VAT returns, income & expenditure statements, P&L, and balance sheets.
5. Maintain petty cash and historical records.
6. Provide clerical and administrative support to the finance team.
7. Ensure accuracy and timeliness in all accounting tasks.
Qualifications and Skills
* Prior experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
* Proficiency in Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
* Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Position Details
Accounting Technician
Salary & Benefits
* Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum, based on experience.
* Flexible working hours: 37.5 hours per week, typically from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (flexible for school runs, etc.). 100% office-based role.
* Overtime paid at the standard rate.
* Performance-based bonus: up to 17% of salary, paid every 6 months.
* Holiday Package: 20 days + 8 bank holidays.
