The Integrated Safeguarding Team are looking for a Specialist Safeguarding Adults Practitioner to join their team to deliver, support and promote safeguarding within Sirona care & health.

This is a varied and exciting role which includes giving safeguarding advice to a range of professionals, providing safeguarding supervision, attending safeguarding meetings and delivering training across Sirona. You will also develop links with partner organisations, including local authority safeguarding teams.

Main duties of the job

You will provide safeguarding adults at risk advice, support and guidance to colleagues across Sirona and promote a "Think Family" approach to safeguarding adults, children and young people, using your experience and knowledge of policies and legislation in relation to safeguarding to provide assurance that staff feel safe and supported in their safeguarding role.

You will develop and deliver safeguarding training in collaboration with the safeguarding children's team to ensure staff are confident and competent to provide an effective safeguarding response.

You will review and write concise reports and chronologies, using your analytical skills to support safeguarding adult enquiries and reviews.

You will provide safeguarding supervision to teams and individuals across Sirona care & health.

You will participate in audit and data collection to inform and contribute to the Safeguarding Adults Team plan of work.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* RSCN / RGN / SHN / RNLD / RMN/ Registered Health Care Professional
* Educated to Degree Level
* Teaching or Training Qualification e.g. ENB 998 /997, City & Guilds / experience of developing / delivering training packages to professional groups
* Evidence of continuing professional development related to safeguarding through attendance at short courses
* Supervision Qualification
* Post graduate qualification in safeguarding / working towards Masters degree in relevant field.


Experience and Knowledge

* Experience working with cases where adult safeguarding has been a significant feature
* Experience of scoping/developing and implementing training/learning packages/devices for a wide variety of audiences
* Recent experience of safeguarding practice (Multi-agency, Multi-disciplinary meetings, report writing)
* Awareness and Understanding of Think Family approach to safeguarding practice
* Up to date knowledge and understanding of best practice and legislation in relation to Safeguarding: Human Rights Act (1998), Children Act (1989, 2004), Care Act (2014), Mental Capacity Act (2005) / DoLS ( LPS when implemented)
* Ability to critically analyse highly complex and emotionally charged information
* Working knowledge of issues relating to information sharing
