Overview
Site Construction Manager role for SSEN Transmission at the Kintore 132kV GIS Substation. On-site five days per week. Base location Aberdeen area. Salary: £42,600 - £64,000 depending on experience + car/cash allowance + performance-related bonus + benefits. Working pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Site Based.
Responsibilities
* Act as safety leader on site and champion for a positive safety culture.
* Represent SSEN Transmission on-site as the key contact for the project with the appointed contractor(s), Operations team and other stakeholders to deliver the works to the project programme, with appropriate resource levels and in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
* Develop effective relationships with contractors, suppliers and the community, leading on-site and championing an effective and collaborative safety culture.
* Ensure the project is executed in accordance with statutory and legal obligations, health & safety, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, and quality & technical compliance (such as ITPs).
* Monitor and record progress of key deliverables including earthworks, civils construction, electrical installation and commissioning activities; measure against KPIs to support assessment of contractor payment applications and management of NEC Contracts; ensure site activities comply with planning consents and SHE legislation; ensure weekly reporting by the Contractor as part of project deliverables.
You have
* Suitable experience of site management of complex works in construction/ utilities/ electrical installation projects, with effective leadership in challenging environments and the ability to manage conflicting demands.
* Strong engineering and construction knowledge with site safety management and CDM Regulations.
* Working knowledge of NEC contracts or equivalent; ability to monitor progress against project plans and apply quality management inspection and test plans (including defect rectification).
* Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to represent the project internally and externally where required.
* Ability to maintain project documentation including weekly progress reports and daily site diaries; familiarity with common software (Microsoft Office).
* Full current driving licence required to travel to and be on site.
