Overview

The Radiography Coordinator ensures the smooth running of the onsite functioning of the Radiography Support Team's or third-party radiography resource and any other NNB Radiography coordination resource. The requirements for radiography will be identified within the contractor's workscope by Engineering standards both EDF and international. Contractors shall justify and agree the NDT technique and amount of on-site NDT, then request Radiography through the Radiography Coordinator. The Radiography Coordinator will check the adequacy of planning and preparations and will confirm adequate safe operation between Tier 1 Con of personnel prior to radiography taking place in accordance with the HSE guidelines and Company Standards. They will ensure work is adequately planned, coordinated, prepared, and risks managed for the work to proceed safely, to time and quality by the Contractor. The Radiography Coordinator will take an overview of radiography performance in delivering the Construction Plan for radiography across HPC site and have a broad understanding of all the radiography work being undertaken. Ensuring potential clashes are avoided and optimising the strategy so that all radiography is delivered safely and with the required quality. The Radiography Coordinator will run coordination meetings and minutes and interface with other construction meetings, anticipating future risk and issues and be proactive in managing them. They will also need to play a pro-active role in the broader HPC Delivery team. Contextual Information The Radiography Coordinator will operate by undertaking a range of monitoring, coordination, planning, advice, guidance and support activities which focus on establishing, promoting, maintaining, and continually improving the HPC CDM Principal Contractor management arrangements for Radiography to attain construction excellence following the HPC Way. The Radiography Coordinator will develop and maintain a 'one-team' working relationship with all key project stakeholders always providing clear communication to support surrounding departments and programme teams. They are responsible for working closely as a team with the Senior Radiography Coordinator and Radiography support section. As part of a small team, the role will require regular out of hours attendance to take part in the site permit system and authorising, as well as observing work.


Responsibilities

* Facilitate the on-site coordination of radiography resources (own team or third-party) and other NNB Radiography coordination resources to ensure smooth operation.
* Verify contractor radiography requirements within the workscope and confirm NDT technique and quantity with the contractor; request radiography through the Radiography Coordinator.
* Check planning adequacy, confirm safe operation between personnel tiers prior to radiography, and ensure adherence to HSE guidelines and Company Standards.
* Ensure work is adequately planned, coordinated, prepared, and risks are managed to support safe, timely, and quality delivery by the Contractor.
* Provide overview of radiography performance in delivering the Construction Plan across the HPC site and monitor all radiography work to prevent clashes and optimise delivery quality.
* Lead coordination meetings, record minutes, and interface with other construction meetings; anticipate and manage future risks and issues.
* Support the broader HPC Delivery team with a proactive role in project execution.


Qualifications

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop wide networks and working relationships within EDF and the construction industry.

* Highly skilled in analyzing technically demanding information and identifying underlying issues and risks.
* Strong capacity to identify risks and implications with a future-focused mindset.
* Strong communication skills to convey complex concepts and data clearly using a variety of media.
* Skilled at engaging others with technical issues and maintaining interest and enthusiasm.
* Skilled in distilling knowledge and building skills in others; pragmatic in addressing technical issues.
* Good knowledge of large organisational, process plant, and site operations with nuclear standards.
* Good knowledge of the radiography industry, including understanding available technologies, benefits, and limitations.
* Ability to deliver and enthuse others to comply with written standards.
* Excellent knowledge of national and international HSE standards.
* Excellent knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015/IRR2017 and Nuclear Site Licence requirements.
* Proven track record of achieving excellent safety results on major engineering and construction projects; PCN or equivalent ISO 9712/ASME level 2 radiographer (current preferred but lapsed qualifications accepted).
* Previously trained and appointed as Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) minimum.
* Experience on large construction/refit projects with significant open-site radiography and barrier plans.
* Good knowledge of other non-destructive testing techniques/standards; additional qualifications such as ultrasonics and/or surface inspection are an advantage.
* Knowledge and experience in the nuclear sector.
* Good knowledge of IRR2017.
* Experience of working closely, supporting a team to achieve excellent delivery.
