Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and motivated Pump Assembly Team Leader (6 months, fixed term) to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
* As a team leader within Pump Assembly you will use your strong leadership and interpersonal skills to support the Value Stream Manager by working collaboratively with Team Leader colleagues to ensure products are produced safely in the required quantity, on time and on cost.
* Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to lead a team to deliver KPIs while adhering to Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures.
* Provide leadership and supervision for the pump production team including recruitment, organization and supporting development through training, auditing, mentoring and regular one-to-one meetings and performance reviews.
* Assist with the implementation of standard operating procedures in Manufacturing and business processes to support the value stream manager.
* Collaborate with colleagues in NPI and Manufacturing Engineering to assist with the integration and transfer of new product developments into live production.
* Be responsible for ensuring a positive safety culture in your areas of responsibility; ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all personnel are a priority.
* Line management for the Pumps production teams, setting clear objectives, conducting regular performance reviews and identifying learning and development opportunities.
* Lead the vision for the value stream’s best-in-class Safe and Lean operation and drive improvements to achieve that goal.
* Engage in project activities with CI lead to implement and drive Lean best practices across the operation.
* Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships and understand their environment and challenges.
* Ensure the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction, with a focus on exceeding customer expectations.
* Engage and empower assembly team members to identify and drive value-creating activities.
* Identify and improve processes and/or systems that hinder value creation.
* Identify, implement and improve key process metrics to monitor health of operations and provide a baseline for continuous improvement.
* Support forecasting and planning for manufacturing growth, including floorspace, equipment capacity, tooling, and labor requirements to meet quantities and schedules.
* Engage and lead empowerment through Self Directed Teams.
* Demonstrate accountability and foster a culture of accountability across all areas of responsibility.
* Maintain a strong focus on safety, training and development of people.
Skills/Experience
* Strong People Management skills with experience managing teams in an operationally focused industry.
* Background in Manufacturing or Engineering.
* Prior manufacturing leadership experience.
* Knowledge of requirements for operational excellence including Lean and 6 Sigma.
* Skilled at building and maintaining a strong team and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
* Business acumen with developed negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Analytical with the ability to interpret data to provide strategic and tactical solutions.
* Positive, self-managing and highly motivated; thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment with a proactive nature.
* Problem solver with a positive mindset, decisive and able to identify and deliver priorities.
