Job Title:
Intelligence & Control Room Manager

Purpose of the job:
To provide clear and timely intelligence and crime statistics on criminal activity in and around QEOP in order to raise awareness of crime trends and key offenders that frequent the Olympic park, venues and surrounding areas.

To provide exceptional leadership and direction in the management of the QEOP Control Room which is responsible for supporting and managing all of the park operations 24hrs per day 7 days per week.

To support the Operations Team and be able to undertake the Team Security Manager role when needed.

External relationships:
Park Management, Venues, Members of the Public, Police, Fire, Ambulance and all other external security agencies.

Internal relationships:
Controllers, Control Room Supervisors, Car Park Team, Security Team Managers, Security Administrator.

Hours:
Working 50 hours across Monday to Friday 07:00 to 17:00, or as business needs dictate.

Salary:
£52,500 per annum.

Job Overview

* Provide crime intelligence to all within the QEOP;

* Investigate all incidents & crimes that occur on or affect the QEOP.

* New events that affect QEOP operations.
* Crime trends and statistics of criminal offences on and around the park. Collate and distribute crime statistics and trends.
* Known and persistent offender information.
* Serious incident tracking and management.
* Intelligence sharing with venues, partners and external agencies.
* Develop and maintain working relationships with the Police and other agencies.
* Develop and maintain working relationships with the venues of QEOP and wider security network.
* Collate and ensure detailed written reports are completed of all security incidents within the park.
* Provide oral, written briefings and presentations as appropriate when required to both venues and security personnel on current crime related issues in and around the park.

* Control Room, responsible for the 'live' operation of the Control Room that manages the essential functions of;

* QEOP's emergency alarm receiving centre.

* Health, safety & welfare of staff.
* Incidents that affect QEOP Operations.
* Business continuity planning centred on the continued operation of the control room and park.
* QEOP buildings and public space security and safety.
* Leadership and direction to control room staff on duty to ensure all issues are dealt with correctly.
* Management & support for out of hours.
* Complete weekly and monthly audits on key activities and equipment within the control room and present reports.
* Provide continued training and coaching to control room staff to enhance performance and provide job enrichment.
* Review the performance and quality of control room staff on a monthly basis to achieve high performance standards.
* Day to day management and rostering of Control room staff.
* Monitor and manage CCTV, radios and all systems to ensure they are fully functional at all times.
* Any other reasonable request from the Management Team.

Skills & Knowledge

* Relevant industry experience whilst not essential is preferred, although it is expected that the candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the unique features of the industry including licensing, events, public space and corporate environments.
* Ability to contribute toward a team's operation or can work on their own initiative.
* Ability to learn and develop new skills in line with the job role.
* A decisive and assertive decision maker who can interpret situations to proceed with a prioritised action plan that achieves the results required.
* Able to communicate effectively and clearly at all levels within the organisation.
* Complete working knowledge of all systems.
* A comprehensive working knowledge of all processes and procedures.
* Experience of managing people and challenging situations.
* A skilful negotiator who is capable of resolving staff issues.
* Excellent analytical skills and report-writing, with attention to detail.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* A positive attitude to dealing with people and taking on challenges.
* An understanding of large mass participation events would be an advantage.
* Resourceful and creative, able to deliver proactive initiatives within the Control Room.
* Crisis Management.
* Events and Crowded places.
* A full Driving licence is desirable.
* Valid SIA CCTV Licence (desirable, or a willingness to undertake training)
* Valid SIA DS Licence (desirable, or a willingness to undertake training)
