The Role
This is a hands-on, leadership role responsible for the end-to-end delivery of EV charging and renewable energy projects.
You will act as the technical and operational lead, overseeing everything from design input through to installation, commissioning, and handover.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to step up and grow into a leadership position, with the opportunity to shape processes and build a team over time.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
* Manage EV charging and solar PV installations from initial scope through to completion
* Coordinate and manage subcontractors, installers, and suppliers
* Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard
Technical & Design Input
* Review and contribute to electrical designs, load calculations, and system layouts
* Liaise with DNOs / IDNOs for grid connections and capacity
* Ensure compliance with UK regulations and standards (BS7671, etc.)
* Conduct site surveys and technical assessments
* Provide guidance and problem-solving during installations
* Ensure safe working practices and quality control on-site
Commercial & Client Management
* Support project costing, scope definition, and feasibility
* Act as a key point of contact for clients during delivery
* Manage expectations and maintain strong client relationships
Process & Growth
* Identify efficiencies and improvements as the business scales
* Support the long-term growth of the EV / renewables division
Requirements
* Fully qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3 + 18th Edition)
* Strong understanding of EV charging infrastructure
* Experience managing subcontractors and site teams
* Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and designs
* Full UK driving licence
* EV qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds 2919 or equivalent)
* Experience with DNO applications and grid connections
* Knowledge of OCPP platforms / charger back-office systems
