We are Trismik, an early-stage startup spinning out of Cambridge University developing adversarial tests for Large Language Models (LLMs). Our mission is to provide the fastest and most accurate testing environment to add the highest value to AI engineers deploying AI applications using LLMs. We aim to help companies and researchers push the frontiers of AI and achieve human-aligned AGI.
We are seeking an early career Graduate Software Engineer to help develop our Python LLM evaluation library, working closely with the Engineering and Science teams. We are open to remote candidates in the UK.
This is a high-impact, high-ownership role as one of our first hires. You will influence our software and product roadmaps, engage with users and customers to promote platform adoption, and work directly with the CTO.
Key responsibilities
* Lead the development of our open source Python evaluation library.
* Engage with the community via GitHub and other channels, addressing bugs and creating documentation.
* Collaborate with Engineering and Science teams to implement features and metrics.
* Ensure platform security and performance standards are met.
* Write high-quality, well-tested code following best practices.
* Contribute to technical roadmap and strategic planning.
Ideal candidates are self-starters, comfortable with ambiguity, creative, detail-oriented, and thrive in fast-paced environments. Passion for software and AI is essential, with experience in LLMs, open source contributions, or personal projects being a plus.
Essential qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree (expected autumn 2025 or obtained) in Computer Science, AI, or related field.
* Strong understanding of full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, architectures, code reviews, source control, testing, and deployment.
* Very strong Python skills.
Desirable qualifications
* Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., Torch, Hugging Face) or data analysis tools (e.g., Pandas).
* Open source project experience.
* Community engagement experience.
* Familiarity with Scrum/Agile methodologies.
