We’re looking for a Performance Analyst (Finance) to join our Finance Business Partnering team and support our Water Treatment operations. Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner, you’ll play a key role in producing clear, accurate and insightful financial and non‑financial performance information that helps leaders make confident, well‑informed decisions.

Working closely with operational teams and senior stakeholders, you’ll take ownership of management information, continually improving its quality and usefulness to ensure it provides genuine, actionable insight.

* Producing and presenting high‑quality financial and non‑financial management information for Water Treatment, ensuring it is timely, accurate, well‑structured and decision‑focused
* Delivering monthly financial and operational performance reporting, clearly explaining drivers, trends, risks and opportunities
* Developing forward‑looking, multi‑year insight aligned to AMP plans, going beyond in‑year variance analysis
* Owning risks and opportunities (R&O), ensuring movements are robust, evidence‑based and clearly understood
* Preparing monthly forecasts, budgets and business plans for assigned cost centres, ensuring plans accurately reflect operational outputs
* Ensuring cost allocation and regulatory adjustments are applied accurately and in line with regulatory accounting guidelines and price control requirements
* Using data, AI and analytics to enhance forecasting accuracy, reporting efficiency and insight quality
* Developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards (or working closely with BI teams) to automate reporting and surface meaningful insight
* Building strong relationships with operational leaders and confidently presenting insight to senior stakeholders, translating complexity into clear, compelling stories


How we work

You’ll be based at our Severn Trent Centre in Coventry. With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week.

What we’re looking for


Experience

* Significant post‑qualification experience in a finance, reporting or performance role
* Strong understanding of management accounting, forecasting and performance reporting
* A proven ability to dig beneath the numbers, linking financial and non‑financial performance with a multi‑year perspective
* Experience of regulatory frameworks, cost allocation or price controls in a highly assured environment (desirable)
* Demonstrable experience improving reporting processes, controls or insight through technology or automation


Technical skills

* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong PowerPoint capability
* Comfortable working with Power BI and large, complex data sets to produce clear and insightful outputs
* Experience with SAP ECC and BI tools (or equivalent systems)
* An interest in, or experience using, AI‑enabled tools to support analysis, forecasting and insight generation

* Highly organised, able to manage high‑volume workloads while maintaining accuracy and presentation quality
* Naturally curious and analytical, with the confidence to challenge data and assumptions
* Comfortable applying professional judgement rather than relying solely on process
* A confident communicator, able to present clearly and credibly to senior operational leaders
* Proactive and forward‑thinking, with a passion for improving ways of working through technology and innovation


Qualifications

* A recognised financial or accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, CIMA or ACCA)
