We're looking for a confident, adaptable individual with experience in public speaking or working with young people to join a welcoming secondary school as a:
Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) / Cover Supervisor
This is a flexible, well-paid opportunity ideal for someone calm under pressure, great with people, and keen to make a real impact in a school environment.
What You'll Do
As part of a small, supportive cover team, you'll step in for absent teachers and deliver engaging, pre-planned lessons. Each day is different, and your responsibilities will include:
* Leading lessons for students aged 11-18 (up to 25 per class)
* Creating a positive, focused learning atmosphere
* Managing behaviour confidently and respectfully
* Supporting students' learning with initiative and energy
Who This Role Suits
We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds-whether you're a youth worker, actor, coach, presenter, or already working in education. You'll thrive if you have:
* Confidence in leading and managing groups
* Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills
* Experience in teaching, training, coaching or similar
* A subject specialism (a plus, not a requirement)
Prior experience as a Cover Supervisor or HLTA is helpful, but not essential. What matters most is your ability to connect with students and lead a classroom.
