We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Radiographers to join our MRI team at the Hammersmith Hospital.
The post will provide the opportunity to gain clinical skills and experience in MRI (previous experience in MRI is desirable but not essential); education and training are key elements of the department. Being flexible and innovative in your ways of working will be fundamental to your role and good communication skills will be essential.
The Hammersmith Hospital performs a broad spectrum of MRI procedures, including cardiac, renal and gynaecological imaging. Currently this is mostly clinical, although a small amount of research-based work is undertaken in the department.
We currently operate opening times of 8am to 8.15pm Monday to Sunday. There will be a requirement to participate in weekend duties as an integral part of the working week. Night cover is not provided at present.

Main duties of the job
This role will involve performing a broad spectrum of MRI scanning procedures, including cardiac, renal, hepatobiliary and gynaecological imaging. Integral to this are patient safety screening, administration of iv contrast / iv cannulation and maintaining documentation of procedures.
Currently this is mostly clinical work, although a small amount of research-based work is undertaken in the department. Communication and liaising with other staff groups including Radiologists, Nursing staff, admin and clerical.

Education/ qualifications
Essential criteria
1. BSc (Hons) Radiography, DCR (D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent.
2. HCPC registration
Desirable criteria
3. Post graduate study
Experience
Essential criteria
4. Up –to-date knowledge of general imaging techniques.
5. Experience of working unsupervised.
6. Awareness of clinical governance issues in relation to patient care
7. Knowledge of developments within the profession.
8. Experience of working with cross-sectional imaging.
Desirable criteria
9. 3 years post -graduation experience.
10. Experience of training staff and students
11. Previous experience, at least, band 6 level.
