Community Phlebotomist

About the role
We are looking to recruit a trained or untrained Phlebotomist to join our community healthcare teams in Trafford and Manchester. The role involves carrying out venipuncture and related clinical tasks in patients’ homes, nursing homes, and clinics across the area. A full UK driving licence and a vehicle insured for business use is required.
Main responsibilities
* Respond to phlebotomy requests for patients in the Primary Care setting.
* Work as part of a team under the direction of the Phlebotomy Supervisor and Phlebotomy Manager.
* Provide phlebotomy services in clinics across Trafford & Manchester and visit housebound patients.
* Carry out blood pressure, height and weight checks as part of an ongoing development programme.
* Work with minimal clinical supervision following completion of an approved training course.
Person Specification
Knowledge
* Experience of working in the community.
* Experience within a Health Care setting.
* Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of the nursing and medical workforce within the community.
* Knowledge of GP practices and community clinics.
* Previous phlebotomy experience.
Experience
* Understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality.
