Old Amersham Hotels in Buckinghamshire is home to two unique 4* hotels The Kings Arms Hotel and The Crown Inn. Old Amersham Hotels is also home to a unique wedding venue The Chapel which is suited within the grounds of The Kings Arms.

Job title:

F&B Manager - King's Arms Hotel

Main purpose of job:

Manage the restaurant and bar areas of King's Arms Hotel. This role includes overseeing the daily functions of the hotel and the smooth running of front of house. The F&B Manager will drive the hotels front of house team through discipline, implementation of operating procedures and attention to detail.

Location:

The Kings Arms Hotel 30 High Street, Amersham, Bucks HP7 0DJ

Shift pattern:

40 hours per week.

Monday-Sundays between the hours of 7am-11pm

Regular evening and weekend work

Occasional late bar until 2am

Main tasks of job:

· Manage and oversee every aspect of the food and beverage department.

· Support and work with all other Heads of Department in all aspects of running the hotel.

· Manage day to day activities.

· Manage stock and ordering for the bar and restaurant areas.

· Ensuring the premises is always immaculate.

· Ensure staff keep their training up to date.

· Managing staff rotas, absences, and sicknesses in line with company policy

· Performance reviews with F&B staff members.

· Attend function sheet meetings with the Sales and Events Team.

· Follow functions sheets to meet the requirements of guests

· Follow the companies' policies and procedures

· Stock takes – maintain drinks pricing to ensure they hit 70% GP

· Ensuring monthly GP is met, managing stock and wastage.

· Cashing up the bar and the restaurant areas to ensure all cash ups are balanced and correct

· Handling cash transactions

· Change orders with the bank

· Follow and manage Health and Safety standards across all areas and in particular with regards to food handling

Additional Manager duties:

· To act as Licensee

· Arranging and authorising rotas, Including staff holidays, in line with company policy

· Actioning timesheets for payroll in line with company policy

· Ensuring adequate staffing levels across every service, including provision for management and/or supervisors.

· Prioritiseing busy shifts, especially evening and weekend.

· Managing staff sickness and return to work forms

· Assisting in monthly health and safety checklists

· Organising onboarding training and the ongoing development of skills for the front of house team. To include ongoing CPD training and ensuring all staff are aware of their legal obligation, namely; the prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, the prevention of public nuisance, and the protection of children from harm

· Conduct appraisals

· Conducting grievance requests

· Implementing disciplinaries

· Ensure beverage GP is within budget to 70% or above

· Ensure product pricing is correct to hit 70% margins

· Motivate and inspire the wider OAH team

· Work with the management team to develop a high-performance team

· Interviewing and hiring team members, assistant F&B Managers and supervisors

· Covering Duty Manager shifts across all locations as set out in the Duty Managers responsibility guide (found in the employee handbook)

· To ensure staff follow the companies' policies and procedures, including phone use while on duty and uniform requirements.

· Help to maintain and update all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure operational excellence always.

Uniform:

Smart, neatly pressed office style clothing. Black shoes, strictly no trainers. Suit Jacket to be worn when assigned as Duty Manager
