Support Worker
Location: Merseyside
Pay rate: £16.55 per hour
Our client is seeking experienced Support Workers to join the New Directions Services. In this role, you will work as part of a multi-agency team delivering creative interventions for children and young people assessed as suffering harm through exploitation. You will provide intensive, evidence-based interventions for children and young people using a Trusted Adult, Child First, and trauma-informed approach.
This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; therefore, you are required to declare any convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings that are not ‘protected’ as defined by the relevant legislation.
Candidate Profile:
* Relevant social care qualification
* Flexible and forward-thinking approach
* Experience working in a Social Services Directorate or similar agency
* Commitment to continuous improvement and high-quality service
* Excellent mediation and negotiation skills
* Experience working with diverse client groups
* Ability to build meaningful relationships with children and families
* Experience in multi-disciplinary, interagency work
* Knowledge of social work legislation
* Medication training
Role Responsibilities:
* Work closely with Children’s Social Care Teams to deliver interventions under the ETAC- Exploitation Team Around the Child approach
* Proactively work with young people and families using various methods underpinned by trusted adult principles
* Contribute to assessments, care planning, and reviews with a child-centered focus
* Assist in care planning and ensure plans are followed and updated
* Produce, monitor, and review individualised ETAC and risk assessments
* Prepare reports for multi-agency meetings and decision-making forums
* Identify and assess risks, providing protective and supportive services as needed
* Practice inclusively, respecting identity and diversity
