About the Role
Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, this varied role will offer exposure to working with a multitude of stakeholders across the organisation - from the wider finance team to other central functions. You'll be forging strong working relationships and will become an integral part of the team providing financial insight, supporting operational efficiency and enabling strategic decision-making across multiple functions.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to the corporate budgeting cycle by coordinating inputs and helping shape the overall financial plan.
* Produce regular financial reports, including regular updates on performance against budget.
* Work collaboratively with various stakeholders—Business Partners, Analysts, Financial Control, and Senior Leaders—to ensure aligned financial delivery.
* Offer financial guidance and decision-making support to other teams and colleagues, translating data into meaningful business insight.
* Take ownership of forecasting, planning, and budget setting processes specific to your given areas.
* Oversee monthly review packs, supplying variance insights and detailed performance narratives.
* Build financial models and run sensitivity analyses to underpin major business decisions.
* Evaluate operational spending to uncover cost-saving opportunities and reinforce financial discipline.
* Assist in evaluating key initiatives through business case development and investment review.
* Develop tools and dashboards that monitor key metrics and strengthen financial accountability.
* Safeguard adherence to accounting standards, governance protocols, and internal control frameworks.
* Support the advancement of the finance function through continuous improvement initiatives and strategic project work.
* Represent the finance team in cross-departmental projects and initiatives as needed.
* Monitor and highlight emerging financial risks and opportunities that could impact delivery.
Qualifications
Actively studying towards a finance qualification such as ACA, CIMA, or ACCA. Background in commercial finance, analytical roles, or management accounting is essential.

* Familiarity with the healthcare, housing, or social care sectors would be beneficial
* Confident to deputise for the commercial manager
