Overview
Public Health Wales invites applications for the Pathology Practice Education Facilitator (PPEF) (Band 6), a 1‑year fixed‑term contract/secondment position. The role is part of a pilot programme hosted by NHS Wales Performance and Improvement and will be based in Swansea Bay UHB, with primary duties carried out at Morriston Hospital and other sites within the Health Board.
Role and Responsibilities
* Provide high‑quality education and training for staff and students across Wales, supporting HCPC registration portfolios, undergraduate placement programmes, apprenticeships, and CPD initiatives.
* Collaborate with local training teams and stakeholders, including professional bodies, higher education institutions and the wider pathology education network.
* Deliver workshops, outreach events and digital learning activities, embedding best practice standards such as IBMS, HEIW and UKAS ISO.
* Travel across the Health Board to deliver training and support, and engage with colleagues via MS Teams and in person.
* Collect and report on agreed metrics for the project, advancing innovation in learning delivery through digital tools and collaborative approaches.
* Promote career pathways to staff, students and schools through outreach activities and by building strong professional relationships.
Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant experience in pathology education, training delivery or workforce development within a healthcare setting.
* Strong knowledge of professional registration requirements (e.g., HCPC) and competency‑based learning frameworks.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
* Excellent communication, organisational and digital literacy skills.
