We are currently recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for our client in Wakefield. The company are a main contractor who specialise on projects in the care home sector including new builds and refurbishments. They’ve been operating for over 25 years and have a strong order book.
They’re recruiting a permanent Quantity Surveyor who can take ownership of new build projects (typically £5–15m in value) from concept to completion. You’ll handle cost management, forecasting, and subcontractor relationships, ensuring the project stays on track financially and operationally. You’ll be a key part of the management team, working directly with the business owners in a supportive environment where collaboration and respect drive every decision.
* Lead the commercial management of high-value new build care home projects
* Oversee cost control, cashflow, valuations, and forecasting
* Appoint and manage subcontractors, ensuring strong commercial performance
* Work closely with site teams, suppliers, and clients to deliver excellence
* Based in Wakefield, with site visits nationwide once or twice a month
* 40-hour week, with flexibility for hybrid working
Requirement:
* Experienced Quantity Surveyor from residential or commercial construction
* Confident managing projects from inception to completion
* Main contractor experience
* Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying (preferred)
* Strong communicator who thrives in a collaborative, hands-on environment
