The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will take ownership of complex building services projects from concept through to delivery, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated, high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design of electrical building services systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, comms/data, and security
* Prepare, review, and approve technical drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports
* Manage project timelines, deliverables, and client communications
* Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering professional and technical growth
* Collaborate with mechanical, architectural, and sustainability teams to deliver integrated MEP solutions
* Ensure designs comply with BS 7671, building regulations, and sustainability standards
* Represent the consultancy in client meetings, workshops, and design reviews
* Contribute to business development and internal process improvements
Candidate Profile
* Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (BEng/MEng or equivalent)
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working toward chartership (CIBSE, IET, or similar)
* 5+ years’ experience in consultancy electrical building services design
* Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, design coordination, and project delivery
* Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software (e.g., Amtech, Dialux)
* Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills
* Proven experience leading design teams and delivering complex projects
