We’re looking for someone with a gift for helping everyone feel welcome to join us as a Welcome Manager at Knole. You will lead the Visitor Services team and oversee our three welcome areas.
{b}You will work frequent weekends (every other weekend) and bank holidays throughout the year, and all‑weather outdoor working will be necessary at times.{/b}

We are passionate about caring for these properties and delivering exceptional visitor experiences. The role is proactive, on‑site and involves day‑to‑day engagement with teams across all departments.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the team of welcome and service assistants and volunteers.
* Ensure day‑to‑day operations run smoothly in our welcome areas.
* Inspire and care for the team, encouraging the highest standards of service and the growth of charitable income.
* Use good judgement and decision‑making to lead from the front in line with National Trust guidelines, values and policies.
* Provide visitor‑facing cover for Welcome Team members and support the duty manager with safeguarding, cash and tills, fire, security and evacuation.
* Serve as the main point of contact for staff, volunteers and visitors in case of emergency, enquiries or complaints.
Qualifications
* Experience in visitor services, tourism, heritage or similar situations.
* Strong curiosity about people and motivation to deliver the highest standards of service.
* High organisational skills.
* Advised at managing financial performance.
* Ability to undertake challenges, adapt and respond under pressure.
