Job Title: Finance Manager
Location: Newcastle (hybrid, two days per week in the office)
Contract: 16m Fixed Term Contract
Salary: Up to £60,000 + Benefits
Elevation Recruitment Group are working alongside a well-established organisation to recruit a Finance Manager to join their team on a 16 month fixed term contract. This role will suit an experienced qualified accountant who enjoys leading a team, managing reporting, and working with a range of stakeholders in a large group environment.
The Role
The Finance Manager will take responsibility for managing the accounting and reporting across a portfolio of group entities. You will lead and develop the finance team, ensure robust month end and control processes, and provide accurate and timely management information. The role also covers statutory reporting, external audit, budgeting and forecasting, as well as involvement in treasury and tax matters.
Key areas of responsibility include:
* Leading, coaching and developing a team of accountants
* Delivery of month end close, reconciliations and management reporting
* Preparation of quarterly and annual statutory accounts
* Managing the external audit process
* Supporting tax and treasury activities, including VAT and intercompany transactions
* Oversight of budget and forecast preparation
* Development of processes for accounts payable, payroll and expenses
* Acting as a central point of contact for stakeholders across the wider group
About you
To be successful in this Finance Manager position, you will be a qualified accountant with at least three years post-qualification experience. You will bring strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP, and a track record of leading teams in a busy reporting environment.
Key skills and experience:
* Demonstrable experience of managing and developing a finance team
* Strong technical accounting knowledge
* Background in statutory reporting and external audit management
* Confident working across tax, treasury and VAT matters
* Ability to influence and communicate at all levels
* Experience of SAP ERP and strong Excel skills
