Are you a skilled clinician passionate about sexual health and ready to expand your advancing practice role? We are seeking a motivated Band 7 Enhanced Clinical Practitioner / Nurse Practitioner or a Band 6 Trainee Enhanced Clinical Practitioner / Trainee Nurse Practitioner to join our forward-thinking, inclusive level 3 Integrated Sexual Health Service.
We welcome applicants from nursing, midwifery, or allied health professional backgrounds who are keen to work autonomously in a supportive and multidisciplinary environment.
You will work as part of a skilled and enthusiastic team delivering high-quality, person-centred care in STI testing and treatment and contraception.
We have 1 part time, fixed term post until November 2026.
Main duties of the job
Band 6 Trainee Enhanced Clinical Practitioner
1. Undertake a structured training programme supported by the consultant nurses.
2. Develop skills across STI management, contraception, and wider sexual health presentations.
3. Gain competencies aligned with enhanced clinical practice.
Band 7 Enhanced Clinical Practitioner
4. Assess, diagnose, and manage a range of complex sexual and reproductive health presentations, ensuring high standards of patient-centred care.
5. Deliver safe, evidence-based interventions in line with national and local clinical guidelines, service protocols, and best practice.
6. Contribute to clinical leadership through active involvement in line management, service development, quality improvement initiatives, and innovation in care delivery.
7. Support the development of others by providing clinical supervision, mentorship, and training to junior colleagues, students, and trainees within the multidisciplinary team.

Education/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
8. Professional registration and a degree in related subject
9. Post registration qualification(s) at level 7
10. STI Foundation intermediate competencies
11. Passion for delivering inclusive, non-judgemental integrated sexual healthcare to diverse populations
Desirable criteria
12. Recognised independent prescribing module at level 7
13. Leadership and Management course(s
14. Faculty Diploma (DFSRH)
Experience
Essential criteria
15. At least 3.5 years post registration experience, and a minimum of 2 years at band 6 or above, including relevant experience in area of practice
16. Experience of working as an enhanced clinical practitioner / nurse practitioner
17. Experience of teaching and assessing others
18. Experience of audit and service development
Desirable criteria
19. Experience of sexual health advising
20. Experience of leading and managing others
21. Relevant clinical experience (e.g. gynaecology, obstetrics, urology, HIV, infectious diseases)
22. Research experience
Skills / Knowledge/ Abilities
Essential criteria
23. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
24. Experience with diagnosis and management of STIs, relation conditions and contraception
25. Excellent organisational skills and advanced ICT skills, including Microsoft office
