The Role
We are seeking professional, committed, and adaptable Teaching Assistants to join the team from September. This role will initially be offered on a 0-hour contract, providing flexibility to meet the needs of the provision, with a strong likelihood of progression to a permanent position for candidates who demonstrate commitment and effectiveness in the role.
Successful candidates will support students with complex ASC and associated needs, working closely with teaching staff and multidisciplinary teams to deliver tailored educational and behavioural support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide consistent, high-quality support to students with complex ASC on a one-to-one and small group basis
2. Assist in the planning and delivery of differentiated learning activities under the direction of the class teacher
3. Support the development of communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation skills
4. Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
5. Contribute to a safe, calm, and purposeful learning environment
6. Support students with personal care needs where required
7. Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and other professionals across multiple sites
Person Specification
8. Experience of working with children or young people with ASC and/or complex needs is highly desirable
9. Demonstrates patience, resilience, and a calm, consistent approach
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
11. Ability to work flexibly across different sites within the BS13 area
12. Commitment to inclusive education and supporting students with additional needs
13. Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential
